The official listing is a short loop. You find a stray wolf at the edge of the woods, name him Jerry, build a camp, and try to last until morning. Every morning, the listing says, he leaves something dead beside your bed. The experience also warns that it contains jumpscares and blood.
Before you leave spawn
- Move with WASD. Press E for the inventory and M for Bob's map. Left click breaks or attacks. Right click places or uses. Those five inputs are the whole published control list, plus G and C if you own Creative Mode.
- Look for the thin grey wolf in a red collar at the treeline. Seeing him is the Welcome to the Woods badge: you came looking for Uncle Ray, and he is already watching.
- Keep three bones. The Good Boy badge text is the tame condition: three bones, and he follows you home.
- Cut wood and mine stone while it is still light. Right click places blocks. Official screenshots show wooden rooms, a white bed, torches, and a hunger row, so a closed shelter and a bed are the practical first build.
- Sleep in your own bed if you can. Sweet Dreams is sleeping through a whole night in that bed. Morning is a different catalog result: you lived until first light, Jerry is gone, and his collar is by the bed.
What the first night is for
Story mode is the investigation. Survival Mode is the same world with no story. Both let you play alone or with a group; the listing says up to 8 players, and the experience record allows 20 players in a server. Do not treat a crowded server as an 8-person private session.
Bones are the currency you will keep needing. The 2x Bones pass names the sources: kills, mining, story chapters, endings, and nights you survive. The first three bones are for taming. Later bones matter too. Treat Time is feeding Jerry when he is hurt. Left Hungry, added October 23, 2026, is what the catalog calls letting him go hungry until he leaves. Good Dog is loving him enough that he never turns. None of those three publish a timer or a health number.
After dawn
Open Bob's map with M and start the cabin, the grave, and the log. Read Bob's trail before you chase endings. The listing promises 10 endings and does not name them. Use the badge catalog as the published outcome text, not a numbered walkthrough someone else invented.
If a menu offers codes, nothing public is confirmed to paste. See the codes page before you trust a string from chat.
